Introducing Katie, the newest staff member to the North Carolina Underground Damage Prevention Review Board

Katie lived in Leicester, England for the past four years, where she was able to tour dozens of British castles and visited 20 other countries. While there, she worked for the National Health Service as a Faculty Support Administrator. She ensured that medical doctors-in-training were meeting the requirements of their medical school programs. She organized training classes for medical faculty and students and spearheaded the Leadership Management Program to teach future doctors to lead with integrity and provide optimal service to their patients.

Prior to moving to England, Katie served as Strategic Initiatives Manager for the City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department. She planned large public events at Dorothea Dix Park, ranging from 1,000-20,000 attendees. In addition, she served as project manager for the creation of the department’s three-year business plan, and has extensive experience in public budgeting, strategic planning and data analysis.

Katie grew up in Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville with a Bachelor's of Arts degree and from Northern Illinois University with a Master's in Public Administration. In her spare time, she enjoys vegetable gardening, travel and fostering cats to prepare them for adoption. She relocated to Raleigh in 2011.
